Deutz-Mülheimer Str. 129
September 13 – 16
Daniel Lisson creates surreal worlds full of eccentric characters and crazy creatures which seemingly escaped right out of cartoons. Many of his personal stylistic choices date back to his beginnings as an artist in the graffiti scene. Colloquial slogans, dynamic themes and an ever present wink of irony are typical of his works. His love for detail and the inclination to portray colourful and wild monsters cannot be missed. For a long time, he has been working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. He founded the streetwear brand RRROBOT and worked on this from 2007 to 2011. Nowadays, he is part of “Lichtfaktor”, a light-painting collective from Cologne. In addition to his illustrations and installations incorporating light, he has been experimenting with screen-printing for quite some time and creates art-prints and editions at his studio at KunstWerk Cologne. During CityLeaks Festival 2015, one can meet Lisson at the open screen-printing workshop at Carlswerk. Apart from that, he will also create a mural near KunstWerk.
